Accounts Senior

Salary: £33,000 - £37,500 DOE

An excellent opportunity for an ambitious Accountant to join our dynamic team. This position will allow you to work with sole traders, limited companies, partnerships and not for profit organisations which range in size and industry sector. You will prepare statutory and management accounts, VAT returns and personal and corporate tax computations. You will manage your own portfolio of clients, which you will be solely responsible for. There will also be the opportunity to get involved with advisory projects which will include business planning, forecasts, budgets, tax planning etc.

You will also mentor and supervise junior members of staff, this will include reviewing work, staff training and making sure staff are up to date on various software packages.

Accounts Senior Duties:

  • Preparation of statutory accounts from client records to Partner review
  • Supporting the Partners in filtering the work from junior members to Partners
  • Preparing and reviewing corporation tax returns and CT600s
  • Preparing and reviewing VAT returns
  • Preparing and reviewing personal tax computations
  • Assisting in the management of a diverse client portfolio with the Partners
  • Supervising and supporting junior team members

Accounts Senior Requirements:

  • 3+ experience post qualified experience within an accountancy firm
  • ICAS/ACCA Qualified
  • Substantial accounts experience gained in Practice
  • Exemplary communication and inter-personal skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative and comfortable with deadlines
  • Experience with accounts software e.g. Sage, Iris
  • Audit experience preferable


Trainee Accounts Assistant

Salary: £16,000 - £18,000 DOE

Trainee Accounts Assistant including full study support towards ACCA.

The Role

The position of a Trainee Accounts Assistant will give you a wide level of exposure including statutory and management accounts preparation, VAT returns and book-keeping. Furthermore, you will be given a portfolio of diverse clients to facilitate.

You will be involved in but not restricted to the following duties:

  • Assisting in the management of a portfolio of diverse clients
  • Reporting to and deputising for the Accountants
  • Preparation of statutory and management accounts
  • Preparation of VAT returns
  • Undertaking general book-keeping
  • Liaising with clients to build effective working relationships

To be considered for this role you must have the following experience:

  • Accountancy Firm experience - DESIRABLE
  • A strong academic record within Accountancy
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
